Some thoughts...
It's accessible: there is always some way to practice- anywhere, anytime. (See last week's blog post for ideas!)
It's flexible: your practice adapts and grows with you, meeting you where you are each day.
Balance at heart: the emphasis on finding balance of strength vs. flexibility, energy vs. rest etc is helpful both on and off your mat.
An opportunity for self-discovery: Encourages self-awareness through mindful and compassionate attention.
Humility: Teaches to let go of unhelpful practices and connect to the larger picture.
Insight: Reveals how physical experiences on the mat mirror emotional and mental challenges off the mat.
Science that feels like magic: that conscious movement and breathwork can lead to a soothing of the nervous system and the unconsciously managed systems of the body is forever astounding to me!
I would love to hear what you take from your yoga practice. And I hope to share the magic with you at class this week or beyond. If you are based in the Surrey Hills you can find my regular yoga classes in Shere and Gomshall. Beginners welcome!
